2015 SUMMER CONCERT

On Saturday, July 25 at 6 p.m., the Knowlton Township Historic Commission (KTHC) held its first in their series of free concerts in the barn. Performing was The Bohemian Quartet, a classical string quartet whose members are part of the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey under the direction of Maestro Robert Butts.

The concert was free of charge with seating in the barn or concert goers brought their own chairs, blankets, and a picnic and relaxed on the grass with a view of the Delaware River. Refreshments were available for a donation. The program included Mozart, Vivaldi, arrangements of popular Broadway favorites, and the American premiere of a piece by Maestro Robert Butts. This piece entitled, Saturnalia Strings , was premiered by Maestro Butts in Italy in March 2015.

Agnes Kwesniewska is the first violinist of the Bohemian Quartet and the concertmaster of the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey. She is an established violinist in the New York classical environment and performs in many storied venues throughout the metropolitan area. The other members of the Bohemian Quartet are also well established classical musicians in this area.

Overall it was a wonderful cultural evening with the performance of The Bohemian Quartet at Ramsaysburg Historic Homestead. It was a great turnout! The barn seating was at capacity and guests took advantage of the lovely evening and listened from the lawn. The barn acoustics were great! Thanks to the Bohemian Quartet for their performance. Next Concert in the Barn is September 26th, tentative to be a jazz performance.
